Music has the power to teach and transform. No person exemplifies this more than Los Angeles based artist Tlona Tiabi. He uses his music as a way to express himself personally and as a tool for change. Influenced by his love of EDM, Indie, and Country music, The Life Of Nick A. To Inspire And Be Inspired, is a one of a kind artist who makes one of a kind music. 

Tlona Tiabi’s Rough Draft story starts in the suburbs of Houston, Texas. Though the humble artist recounts his upbringing as one of blessings more so than tragedy, the reality of often being one of the only black faces in a sea of white. Being the token black meant being chosen first during pick-up basketball games due to physical stereotypes, and having to act as a representative of the entire black community whenever racial issues emerged. Furthermore, because he was one of the only persons of color at his school, his peers felt much more confident in voicing their problematic views and acting in problematic ways. However, due to the foresight of a childhood friend and supportive parents, he was able to use music as an outlet for voicing these issues.

When asked about future aspirations, Tlona Tiabi said he wants to tour the world, travel, and invest more in real estate. One destination he mentioned wanting to go to the most was Australia. Though we at Rough Draft are somewhat wary of the country due to its unusually high amount of dangerous wildlife, he is undaunted by the beautiful location’s deadly fauna. As he said, all he needs is someone to tell where to go and where not to. In any case, Tlona Tiabi is a unique rapper who embodies the energetic personality of the city he calls home.
